I know what you’re thinking. Darin, the Faith and Family thing we get, but why politics? I’ve discovered throughout the last few years that there are three things that I am most passionate about and then a close 4th.

  • Faith - My Faith is critical to my existence, sanity, well-being and morals. At the age of 7, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. His death and sacrifice on the cross gave me and every human being a second chance. See, we’re all sinners. We all belong in Hell. But we have a merciful God. A God that loves us all so much, that he gave his Son to die for the sins of the world. Acknowledging this, and inviting Christ into my life has changed me completely, inside and out. While I’m still human, I still make mistakes just like anyone else. But the great part about a forgiving God is that he is continually willing to take me back, even after I screw up. It is my faith that defines me. Christianity is not a religion. Its a way of life. Its a lifestyle. As a Christian, its my job to reflect Christ in my own life. By words, actions, sacrifices, etc. Every one has this chance to accept Christ. I want you to, as well.
  • Family – My family. Words cannot not express a better gift to a more undeserving man. I grew up with two of the greatest examples of parents that any person could ever ask for. I was not always a great kid, but my parents taught me through love, understanding, and discipline and I’ve grown into a responsible husband and father today. Having a family of my own has been a huge blessing. Words can’t even describe the joy I have in my family. My wife Cassandra is my bride. She is the most beautiful, amazing, loving, caring, passionate women I have ever known. She is my all, and together we’ve brought into the world a son, Carter who is just beaming with joy and love with every look and glance he sends our way. God has blessed me with my family, and it comes before everything else.
  • Politics - Okay, okay, so why politics? Honestly my passion for politics comes from the way I’ve been raised. I’ve been instilled with some seriously strong core values in my life. I was born a Conservative and forever will be. I get heated, and crazy about politics. But as much as I am angered, frustrated, and irate about some of the things, I know that ultimately God has his Hand in all of it.
  • Technology – I am a technology FREAK. I work as an IT guy with Windows machines all day long, primarily advanced database server systems. But at heart, I’m an Apple NUT. I love all things Apple. iPods, iPhones, iPads, iMacs, MacBookPros, ALL of the above. I think Apple is a company that is always on the forefront of innovation and they are the ones always raising the bar. I’m excited for whats ahead, and whats here now.
